Dick Oakes
Owner/Associate Broker

Dick Oakes was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. His 30-year real estate career began in 1975.

The highlights of Dick's career include:

Branch Manager of a Royal Trust office (1976 - 1984).
Created Re/Max House of Real Estate (1985 - 1993).
With partner Ron Stanners, created Sutton Group Canyon Creek (1994). The partnership held four offices in Calgary by 1997.
With partner Ron Stanners, created a new franchise real estate company, MaxWell Realty Inc., which began operating September 1, 1999.
In addition to a B.Sc. degree in Zoology from the University of Alberta, Dick's real estate credentials include CMR, FRI, CRES, and C.R.B.

Business and community involvement:

Teaching the pre-licensing (real estate) course for 27 years (second most senior lecturer in Alberta real estate).
Senior presenter of continuing education courses for the Real Estate Council of Alberta.
Chair and member of more than 90 committees for the Calgary Real Estate Board and Alberta Real Estate Association.
President CREB Charitable Foundation in 1997.

for Junior Achievement.
Mediator, Better Business Bureau and Alberta Justice Department.
Advisory Council, Calgary Homeless Foundation.

Achievements:

MLS Million Dollar Club (1976).
Broker/owner of the year for RE/MAX in all of North America (1986).
Attained #1 office production status for RE/MAX in Canada (1993).
Attained #1 office production status for the Sutton Group in Canada (1997).
Recognized as the only broker in Canada to have ever taken two separate major franchise offices to #1 status from zero-based start-up.
Awarded Calgary Real Estate Board's T.W.H. Saunders Memorial Award (REALTOR�® of the Year) (1997).
Wrote industry approved handbook
